In 2015, Southwest Airlines began international flights to and from William P. Hobby Airport. On May 14, 2015, the airline began selling tickets for the Oct. & Nov. international flights. 

The new Hobby International passenger terminal is scheduled to open in October, 2015. The new terminal building will provide the airport with additional gates and customs facilities for international travelers.
